Trail Analytics & Visitor Hazard Reports
Tracking visitor movement, identifying trail bottlenecks, and receiving facility issue alerts.
Drop-Off Funnel Analytics
Not all visitors complete an entire trail loop. The LeafQuest dashboard provides drop-off funnel analytics tracking:
- Trailhead Scans: How many visitors start each trail route (Start Count).
- Progression by Stop: What percentage of hikers advance from Stop 1 to Stop 2, 3, etc.
- Steep Drop-Off Points: Identifies where visitors frequently turn back — highlighting confusing trail markers, steep terrain, or overgrown brush.
- Overall Trail Completion Rate: Total visitors successfully finishing all stops and claiming digital badges.
Crowdsourced Visitor Hazard Reporting
Trail visitors act as real-time field scouts for park management. At the foot of every stop reveal page, visitors can tap "Report Issue / Hazard":
🪵 Fallen trees or obstructed trail footpaths
Critical
🏷️ Damaged, vandalized, or missing QR plaques
Maintenance
🐝 Wasp, hornet, or dangerous wildlife activity
Safety
All hazard reports arrive instantly in the Visitor Reports tab of the custodian portal with stop GPS coordinates and attached photos, enabling rapid park maintenance response.
